On-site Waste Water Treatment Plants Are More Green

by Mike Mooney
The great thing about water treatment plants is the idea that you can take river or lake and make it fit for drinking. You can take industrial wastewater and cleanse it to be used for something else rather than simply disposing it and wondering about the future affects. You can accomplish so many things with modern technology and filtering systems where the water needs for individuals and companies vary so do the needs for filtering water and what properties needs to be removed and which are irrelevant. Setting goals that go beyond the regulatory requirements allow for settled water, or other water, to be found suitable for many things. The prioritized list of treatment plants is updated ...

Basic Understandings of Flowback and Produced Water

by Bryan Bingham
Produced water comes from the oil industry when drillers output leftover water used to drill. It's trapped underground and appears at the surface with either oil or gas as part of the drilling process. Using separators, the produced water is separated from the main oil stream. Produced water is wasted water that accompanies oil extraction and is high in saline. The standards for produced water disposal are governed by State, National and international regulatory bodies and new technologies are constantly bringing new options for less environmental impact. Oil wells typically produce a lot of water, more than the amount of oil harvested. Oil production decreases over time and the water ratio increases and recycling is beginning to enter ...

Recycled Checks - Helping the Earth

by Alan Plastin
We all want to do our part to help take care of our environment. Sometimes it's the little things we do that can add up and make the most impact. Like ordering recycled checks. Personal checks are a necessary thing in life. Purchasing recycled checks fills that need while helping the environment as well. There are three companies in particular that produce their printed and themed checks on recycled paper. These checks are printed on recycled paper with 20% post-consumer fibre which is the highest that can be created through modern technology today. Not only this, but these environmentally friendly companies also use vegetable based ink which are both biodegradable and toxic free, two features which can ...

Why Aren’t You Recycling

by Joseph Then
This scares me to death. The last time I heard about global warming is that the ice caps on the two poles are melting. Therefore sea level is also rising. Even if it wasn't for the news I could feel that the environment is deeply effected by global warming due to the increase in temperature. This problem could be solved if we all start to recycle. Well, recycling is one of the methods to help save the environment. Plastics other than CFCs are one of the most harmful materials on earth as it cannot be broken down. Therefore it will stay on earth forever; this kind of material is called non-biodegradable. With the growing usage if plastic, ...
